Product Description

Made in the high hills of San Andres, this accessible artisanal mezcal is distilled by Atanasio Aragón Martínez, and Valente Angel García using Espadín (and a touch of Bicuishe) and delivers a smooth-drinking experience that wins over many from the first sip. Its profile features roasted agave, white flower and almond on the nose, with citrus-sweet fruit, caramelised sugar, light smoke and a hint of dark chocolate in the finish.

About Alipús

Alipús began around 1999-2000 under the umbrella of Grupo Los Danzantes, working with multiple family-run palenques across Oaxaca (e.g., in San Juan del Río, San Andrés). Its model emphasises traditional production, agrarian support, and terroir-driven expression by independent mezcaleros.

About Mezcal Ensamble

A mezcal ensamble brings together multiple agave varieties in one harmonious, handcrafted blend. Each species contributes its own character — from earthy depth to bright herbal notes — creating a layered, expressive spirit. Traditionally roasted in earthen pits and distilled in small batches, an ensamble captures the full artistry of mezcal production, offering a more complex profile than single-variety bottlings. Expect a refined balance of smoke, minerality, and roasted agave, making it a standout choice for thoughtful sipping or elevated cocktails.
