Product Description

This expression from dense Madrecuishe agave delivers vibrant minerality and a smoky, vegetal complexity. On the nose, expect jalapeño, cocoa, and florals; the smooth palate brings beets, sweet potato, pollen, and a hint of capsicum spice.

About Bozal Mezcal

Bozal (the Spanish word for “wild / untamed”) is a mezcal brand focused on wild species of agave in Oaxaca, Guerrero and Durango, produced in small batches via traditional methods. Sustainability-oriented, Bozal plants two magueys for every one harvested in its wild-nursery programme.

About Mezcal Madrecuishe

Madrecuishe (also spelled Madre-Cuishe) is a wild variety of the Agave karwinskii species. It thrives in arid, rocky terrain in Oaxaca and grows in a tall, narrow, often cylindrical form. Because its core is dense and low in water content, mezcal produced from Madrecuishe typically exhibits a pronounced minerality, with vegetal, herbaceous, and sometimes floral or nut-like notes.
