Product Description

A mezcal crafted from 100% Cupreata agave in Axaxacualco, Guerrero, this one-of-a-kind spirit is surprisingly smooth and approachable. It features an intense floral aroma balanced by crisp herbal and mineral flavours, finishing with a lingering floral note.

About El Occidental

El Occidental launched around 2019 and pays homage to the roots of mezcal production in western Mexico—highlighting the cultural fusion between Filipino migrants and Indigenous peoples in that region. It features expressions from three states and combines modern techniques (mechanical milling) with traditional ones (spontaneous fermentation, small copper stills) to maintain artisanal character while scaling access.

About Mezcal Papalote

Maguey Papalote (Agave cupreata) is a wild agave endemic to the rugged slopes of Guerrero, Michoacán and Oaxaca in Mexico. It typically forms broad, spiky leaves with copper-tinged spines and matures slowly in semi-arid, high-elevation terrain. Because its core is dense with relatively low water content, mezcal produced from Papalote often exhibits firm minerality paired with herbaceous green notes, wild floral touches and subtle citrus peel accents.
