Product Description

A raicilla crafted by maestro Joagin Solis on the Pacific-coast of Jalisco, this blend of 60 % Chico Aguillar (Agave angustifolia) and 40 % Amarillo (Agave rhodacantha) is rich in tradition and flavour. It opens with savoury olive-brine and smoky BBQ notes, then moves into hints of orange peel, oregano and green apple, finishing smooth and dry.

About Bonete Raicilla

Bonete Raicilla is an artisanal “vino de agave” from the state of Jalisco that leans into wild-cultural heritage and unconventional flavour profiles. The brand emphasises traditional practices such as cooking agave underground in conical ovens and distilling on wooden stills — notably incorporating the rare Bonete tree (Jacaratia mexicana) trunk during distillation to impart unique character.

About Raicilla

Raicilla is a regional agave spirit from the Mexican state of Jalisco (and certain municipalities in Nayarit), distilled from various agave species using traditional methods. It takes its name from the Nahuatl-derived word meaning “little root.” While the production methods resemble those of mezcal — roasting the agave hearts, fermenting, and distilling — raicilla allows a wider variety of agaves and regional styles than the strictly defined category of Tequila. There are two main expressions: “de la costa” (coastal) and “de la sierra” (mountain), each using different agave species and cooking/distillation techniques, which result in distinct flavour profiles. The spirit is typically enjoyed neat and reveals flavours ranging from floral and fruity to herbaceous, mineral or even peppery, depending on origin and age.
