A rare mezcal crafted from wild Capón-harvested Tobalá agave, this is an elegant yet approachable pour that often surprises even seasoned drinkers. It features vibrant tropical-fruit and honeyed agave aromas, followed by soft citrus peel, roasted pear, and subtle herbal spice—finished with mineral depth and warm earth tones.

About Real Minero

Real Minero is an acclaimed, family-run mezcal house from Santa Catarina Minas, Oaxaca, celebrated for its deep commitment to traditional production and the protection of local agave biodiversity. The Ángeles family — including maestro mezcalero Don Lorenzo Ángeles Mendoza and his children, Edgar and Graciela Ángeles — has been making mezcal for generations, using ancestral methods such as clay-pot distillation (ollas de barro), a hallmark of the Minas region.

The family is also renowned for its pioneering agave-reforestation and seed-bank initiatives, maintaining one of Mexico’s most respected agave conservation projects. Real Minero’s small-batch mezcales are typically crafted from agaves like Largo, Tripón, Barril, and Espadín, each expressing the mineral-rich soils and artisanal precision that define the house. Their work has positioned Real Minero as one of the most important guardians of traditional mezcal culture in Oaxaca.

About Mezcal Tobalá

Maguey Tobalá (Agave potatorum) is a small, wild agave that grows in rocky, high-elevation terrain. It forms a compact, low rosette rather than a tall trunk, and typically requires over a decade to mature. Because of its high sugar content and limited water reserves, mezcal made from Tobalá often shows concentrated flavors, with bright fruity and floral notes layered over gentle earthiness.
